In this course, participants will gain a basic understanding of key financial reports for non-profit organizations. This course is designed for those with little to no financial background and includes discussions on reports such as the balance sheet and profit and loss statement, the difference between restricted and non-restricted assets and when an audit makes sense for an organization. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the difference between a Balance Sheet and a Statement of Activities (Profit and Loss          Statement). 
  2. Understand how to calculate a current ratio and what it means. 
  3. Define UBIT 
  4. Identify three common sources of revenue for non-profits. 

As a CAE Registered Provider educational program related to the CAE exam content outline, this program may be applied for 1 credit toward your CAE application or renewal professional development requirements. 

Note: Applicants may use any program that meets eligibility requirements in the specific timeframe towards the exam application or renewal. There are no specific individual courses required as part of the applications – the selection of eligible education is up to the applicant based on his/her needs.
